These Companies Aren't In A Recession

We seem to be stuck in a strange limbo land, between crisis and solution. Look in one direction, and the news is very bad indeed.

Rising youth unemployment, drastic public sector cutbacks, escalating government debt and half-empty provincial high streets might be enough to convince anyone we’re in trouble.

Yet on the other hand, many of the UK’s listed companies are in rude health, delivering rising profits, dividends and even margins. What’s happening?

Well, I won’t pretend to be able to explain the whole story, but I do know that on a single day this week I was able to pick out four mid-cap companies that had issued trading updates on the same day, and highlight all of them as examples of shares that are beating the  recession.
